American Legion Memorial Day Ceremony
Mon. May 29, 2023
9:45 a.m.

The American Legion will be commemorating Memorial Day with a brief ceremony at the flagpole in the northwest corner of the Lyonsville Cemetery on Monday, May 29, 2023.

The American Legion Ceremony consists of an oral remembrance, a prayer, a moment of silence, a rifle salute, and the playing of soul-stirring taps in honor of our fallen.
Lyonsville Cemetery holds special interest to the Legion as it is the resting place of more than 100 veterans with service ranging from the War of 1812 to the Vietnam War. Please join the American Legion for this tribute to those who served our country in the armed forces!

Note: Arriving by 9:45 am is encouraged. The American Legion visits several cemeteries that day so their exact arrival time is a bit variable. Lyonsville Cemetery Board members will have complimentary snacks and beverages available while you wait, and then after the ceremony there is more time to socialize with the members of the American Legion and the other attendees.

The Cemetery Board looks forward to welcoming you to this tribute!

Thank you for helping us honor those who serve and served.
