Please join us as we welcome La Grange’s Robert E. Coulter American Legion Post 1941 for the annual Memorial Day commemoration.
The American Legion Ceremony consists of an oral remembrance, prayer, moment of silence, rifle salute, and the playing of taps. Lyonsville Cemetery holds special interest to the Legion as it is the resting place of more than 100 veterans with service ranging from the War of 1812 to the Vietnam War. Please join the American Legion for this tribute to those who served our country in the armed forces.
Note: Arriving by 9:30 am is encouraged. The American Legion visits several cemeteries that day so their exact arrival time is a bit variable. Lyonsville Cemetery Board members will have complimentary snacks and beverages available while you wait, and then after the ceremony there is more time to socialize with the members of the American Legion and the other attendees.
